How to manage monthly household expenses

  • Keep receipts, invoices and tickets for everything you buy or pay, whether it is the daily purchase of food or the payment of bills.
  • Write your income and your monthly expenses in a notebook or in an Excel file. Write the concept and the value and differentiate income from expenses using different colours.
  • At the end of the month, take stock. Add all the income and all expenses separately, and then subtract the second number from the first. If the result comes out positive there is no problem, because it means that the balance is positive, that you enter more than what you spend and that you can even dedicate a corner to saving. Otherwise, if the result is negative and, therefore, you spend more than what you enter, you should consider if there's any way to receive more income or which are the things that you don't really need.
  • It's also important to compare the results with the balances of previous months to detect if you did any special action during the months that were the best for you and to try to repeat it.

If you pay attention to these tips, we're sure that you won't forget anything!
