• Save electricity. Electricity is one of the highest expenses of a community of owners, but it's also one of the expenses in which you can save more money. Use LED lights in the stairs, in the parking and in the elevator; use low-energy bulbs; use fluorescent tubes; install presence detectors and regularly clean the lightning elements. If you do all this things, you will reduce, for sure, the bill of light.
• Save water. When the water must be paid in community is when the problems start. If the community has a garden, a tip to save money is to apply the drip irrigation and take advantage of the rainwater. Hot water and heating are the most expensive things in a neighbourhood community, so it's necessary to regulate their use and be responsible thinking about the common good. A very interesting option is to use solar energy. In this way you will save lots of electricity consumption.
• Save money on heating. Don't be scared if you need to do improvements in thermal insulation, because in this way you will reduce the need of heating in winter and the need of air conditioned in summer. Determine the right power, change the diesel boilers for gas natural boilers and remove all those that have more than 15 years of live and, finally, install individualized meters for each property.
• Save on elevator maintenance. One of the classics in neighbourhood communities is the maintenance of the elevator. Among the saving measures there are the mechanisms of selective manoeuvre (in case that there is more than one elevator, just the one which is closer attends to the call) or the lightning control so that the light of the elevator is not always on.
• Save on extra services. If you want to save even more money, you can decide to reduce the days that the cleaning service is hired, take care of the facilities and, if you need to make reforms, don't forget to request public subsidies for the rehabilitation.
