How to prepare your home for guests at Christmas

  1. Stock the pantry and fridge. Make sure you stock the fridge with healthy drinks and snacks.
  2. Tidy up and deep clean. A clean house is a cosy home, so make sure you take the time to tidy up and remove excess "stuff" from the living room, kitchen, bathrooms and guest room. A thorough cleaning is also recommended so that everything is spotless and hygienic. Wash all bed linen before placing it in the guest bedroom.
  3. Prepare the guest room. To have a comfortable guest room and to make sure your guests are comfortable, it is important to take these points into account. Prepare an extra duvet or blanket placed on the bed to provide extra warmth and make the room look cosier. Prepare the bedside table with some items such as a bottle with fresh water, drinking glasses, tissues, a vase with flowers for a nice touch... Leave them a space to unpack. A chest of drawers or a wardrobe in the bedroom is a great option, and make sure you free up space in the guest bedroom wardrobe so they have somewhere to hang their clothes. Don't forget to include hangers too. You can also add a sleeping mask or earplugs.
  4. The guest bathroom is also important. Don't forget to equip the bathroom when preparing your home for guests.

Keep these tips in mind when preparing your home for the holiday season. With bright, festive lighting and a cosy space, you'll create a home that will delight all your guests. A comfortable, cheerful home is where friends and loved ones will want to come back to visit season after season.
