How to create an optimal telework space at home?

Working from home can have many advantages, but it can also have its drawbacks, as you are more likely to get distracted, not know how to disconnect from work, and end up being unproductive. Therefore, to contribute to your concentration and productivity, it is very useful to create a fixed office, where you feel at ease.

In this post, we explain how to choose the elements of this workspace, so that you feel as much comfortable and productive as possible.

Firstly, it is essential to choose a good office chair. Preferably, it should be ergonomic, in order to maintain a good posture and not overload your back. Besides contributing positively to your health, it will also contribute to your productivity. The desk, on the other hand, should be made of materials that are pleasant to the touch, such as wood

Secondly, it is advisable to choose a space in the house that is rarely used and is well lit. Another recommendation is to avoid having a lot of things on the table, and if you use filing cabinets, white ones are ideal to create a greater sense of order and neatness.

Fourthly, using drawer organizers is the best decision you can make to keep your office material tidy and close at hand, without getting in the way. For example, there are transparent ones, which are not only aesthetically pleasing but also very practical.

When it comes to organizing papers, it is advisable to opt for two or three folders. In this way, in one folder you can keep important documents that you cannot throw away, in another one, documents that you have to keep temporarily, and in the last one, papers that you currently need.

Another aspect to take into account is the cables of the electronic devices you use. These should be tidied away or kept out of sight by using cable grommets or cable organizers. You can also use a decorative object to cover them, for example, a basket or a box.

On the other hand, decorating the space with some natural plants will not only make the space more pleasant, but they are proven to bring calm and balance. Sansevieria and pothos are two ideal options due to their characteristics (they purify the atmosphere and are very easy to maintain).

Finally, as already mentioned, another very important point is the lighting. If possible, the space you choose should have as much natural light as possible, and during the last hours of the day, you should have a LED lamp (both ceiling and flex) that illuminates the table. This will distribute the light evenly and pleasantly.
