  1. Oriental: Influenced by Feng Shui, balance is the key in this type of decoration, it seeks to create peaceful and balanced atmospheres. The predominant materials are bamboo, stone, rice paper, cedar wood and silk. The colours are white or light tones, such as beige. Nature is very important for this type of decoration, so the artificial lighting is usually warm, in such a way that it resembles the rays of the sun.
  2. Nautical: fresh colours and everything related to the sea play a major role. Indispensable colours are navy blue, royal blue and white. Rustic wooden furniture is also a must, as well as decorative elements that evoke life on the beach. Thick stripes in blue or red predominate in cushions, curtains and other textiles.
  3. Romantic: Small details make all the difference. This decoration appeals to the senses to convey a warm, cosy and timeless atmosphere. Wood is essential in this type of decoration, but always in light tones or painted white. The predominant colour is usually pink. Flowers, scented candles, bookshelves, are elements that do not fail in these pastel-coloured spaces, such as lilac, yellow or green.
  4. Industrial: Nowadays, interior designers are inclined towards these elements in decoration that proudly show the construction materials that others try to hide. The furniture used is made of metal or iron, even with a bit of rust on it. Untreated wood and veneer are used. One or two decorative pieces such as pictures or photographs are used to add a touch of colour. To counteract the coldness or dark tones, a large entrance of natural light is necessary.
  5. Art Deco: a symbol of glamour and sophistication, inspired by the 1920s. Among its fundamental characteristics is the tendency towards geometric lines, in particular rectilinear lines and monochromatic palettes, i.e. choosing one colour and using the shades of that colour. The key is the contrast between light and dark or bright colours, such as red, blue or yellow.
