Selling inherit properties: what we should have in mind

Before we sell the property, we must inherit it. Inheritance is not an automatic process; those are the steps that must be taken to formalize inheritance:

  • We must present the death certificate to a notary, so that we can know what the will of the deceased is.
  • We will have to pay the taxes of Succession and Municipal Extravaluation.
  • We must also take into account the house deed, in order to change the name of the owner.
  • Lastly, if we want to sell the inherited property, we will have to register it.

Once we have completed the steps above we can proceed to sell our flat. We must take into account two very important factors:

  • Housing price: The main factor we must take into account when selling the property is the price at which we want to sell it.
  • Announce the property: Once the price of the property has been fixed it is time to announce it to attract potential buyers. We can do this through a real estate agency or simply via the Internet through an online real estate portal.
